I’m Josephine — a Danish jewelry designer and artist from Aarhus, now based in Copenhagen.
I create handmade pieces in 925 recycled silver and 14 kt solid gold, with a focus on durability and small-scale production. All designed and created in my own workshop.
My aim is to create jewelry that can be worn for years — and passed on.
As a mother of three, it’s important to me to work responsibly and protect the world my children will grow up in — which is reflected in the materials I choose and how I produce.
xx Josephine
Josephine Tønder holds a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Jewelry, Technology and Business.
Her work is rooted in a minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic, defined by simple, sculptural forms and textured surfaces — refined, yet still raw. It explores the balance between structure and imperfection, creating pieces that feel both organic and enduring.
Each piece is shaped by hand and produced in small quantities, with a focus on material, detail, and proportion. Her process is driven by curiosity and a desire to create pieces that resonate — both visually and physically.
Her work is made to be worn — adding presence to both everyday life and special occasions.
Alongside jewelry, she works with painting as a parallel practice — exploring form, surface, and contrast across different scales. Ideas often move between canvas and object.
